29yrswithaGApass
Did anyone make it out to the park this past Saturday? I was wondering if they were able to get the fireworks in before all the thunderstorms hit.
gafreak
i hope that in 2010 we see the reopening of old country, its a perfect area to stick some of the flats in the boneyard and reopen the autobahnm and music express, unless there in such bad condition from sitting so long and being neglected
29yrswithaGApass
Today is the 40th Anniversary of the lunar landing... if you are in the park today make sure you go and see Fly Me to the Moon to celebrate.
29yrswithaGApass
I have always wondered about the large antenna tower in distance in this photo. It almost looks like it would still have been on Great Adventure's property but I would imagine it was related to the airbase. Anyone know any info on it or when it was removed? I am assuming the skinny tower right behind the Skyride tower is the high dive tower in the Aqua Stadium but it seems kinda tall.
CycloneMan
Last night I watched ligthning hit El Toro (everything was blindingly bright for a second) and bounced off and hit Kingda Ka. And Ka's alarm was going off stating that there was an emergency, please evacuate Also...watching Bizarro get hit a few times made us all chukle

I am assuming the skinny tower right behind the Skyride tower is the high dive tower in the Aqua Stadium but it seems kinda tall. The big tower in the background is a microwave tower...part of the telephone company's network. The skinny thing that looks like it's right beside the Skyride tower is a lightning rod on Rolling Thunder's hill. If you look REALLY close, you can see where the wire runs down the ride structure. The Master
That's weird, I didn't see any storms around my place yesterday, guess a pop up cell must have hit GAdv that day. Usually the park closes down early if a storm hits it. Edited July 31, 2009 by The Master

29yrswithaGApass
I just heard this song on TV and it made me think about when they use to play it after the dolphin shows at the Aqua Stadium when guests were exiting.

29yrswithaGApass
Other than a character meet and greet backdrop, I can't imagine why this sign would be here. Any ideas?

29yrswithaGApass
After being open daily since May, I wonder if the Safari animals wonder where all the cars are this morning being the park is closed?
Railer
Other than a character meet and greet backdrop, I can't imagine why this sign would be here. Any ideas? I do think it was closed on Sat. Night. I did not see it run once.
southview2
I dont think GASM is going YET. I think its just a sign and nothing more. If it meant something it would say something along the lines of "Making more fun for you" or "Funstruction".
29yrswithaGApass
If I had to guess, it was probably put there so they could take promotional pictures to illustrate how product advertising can be displayed. The photos would most likely be used to sign future sponsorship deals.
CoasterPrince
..or Gasm's leaving and Riddler's Revenge is coming. Jk. I do wonder why it was closed that one day though. Rt and Gasm are my two fav. rides on crowded days. They have no lines and are quite enjoyable.
29yrswithaGApass
I saw a GA commercial last night for the various season passes. During the summer there were constant commercials, but this was the first one I saw in quite some time.
